âManhattan Clam Chowder</p>
<p>â Ingredients (3-4 servings)<br />
1/2 onion<br />
1 potato (150g)<br />
1/4 carrot (50g)<br />
1/2 celery stalk<br />
2 slices of bacon<br />
10 g butter<br />
(1/2 can (200g) cut tomatoes)<br />
1 can (130g) (A) can boiled scallion<br />
1 bay leaf (A)<br />
Crackers, salt, pepper, to taste</p>
<p>â Directions for preparation<br />
ã1ãCut onion and potato into 1.5cm cubes, carrot and celery into 1cm cubes, and bacon into 1cm pieces.</p>
<p>ã2ãHeat butter in a saucepan over medium heat and saute onion and bacon.<br />
When the onions soften, add the potatoes, carrots, and celery and saute briefly.</p>
<p>ã3ãAdd (A) (with the juice of the canned scallions) and 300ml of water when the oil is well coated.<br />
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.<br />
Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve. Sprinkle with crushed crackers.</p>
