●Japanese-style steak with thick-sliced lotus root
■Ingredients (for 2 persons)
200 g lotus root
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons each of (A) soy sauce, mirin and sake
pepper to taste
■Directions for preparation
【1】 Cut lotus root into round slices about 1.5 cm thick.
2) Mash the garlic with a knife.
【2】Put garlic and olive oil in a frying pan and heat over medium-low heat.
When the aroma comes out, add the lotus root, cover with a lid, and cook for about 7 minutes.
【3】Turn the lotus root upside down, add 2 tablespoons of water, cover again, and cook for another 4 minutes.
Cook for another 4 minutes, then add (A) and stir to coat.
Arrange in a serving dish and sprinkle with pepper.
